FUE and FUT hair transplant treatments in Cyprus.

The FUE hair transplant is the most advanced technique in the hair transplant industry. Our talented team has excelled in the FUE hair transplant method and this is what we use to give our clients the best results. As a clinic, we rarely perform the FUT Strip hair transplant method as it is an old treatment, but use it in cases where the patient wants to proceed with it.

FUE Hair Transplant in Cyprus

The FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant surgery is minimally invasive and offers a natural-looking result with the desired density without leaving a huge linear scar.

The FUE hair transplant technique is done under local anesthetic. During hair transplantation, the doctor gets grafts from one part of the body, called the donor area, and places them in the target area. These grafts are carefully harvested individually and contain not only the hair but also the hair follicle and bulb. Each graft can contain more than one hair, usually up to 4 hairs.

Incisions are made in the target area and then the doctor carefully implants the grafts with the hair and follicle into the scalp of the desired area until all harvested hair follicles are implanted.

The donor area for an FUE treatment can be any part of the body where the hair is thick and healthy. The FUE method leaves scars, but they are tiny and almost not visible. The size of the scar depends on the size of the punch that is used to harvest the grafts.

FUE Beard Transplant in Cyprus

Hair transplants for the restoration of beard hair are becoming very popular nowadays. A beard hair transplantation can also include the areas around the beard such as the chin, cheeks, moustache and sideburns.

FUE beard transplant in Cyprus can be used to treat thinness, alopecia areata, bald patches and different scars around the beard area. Some people choose the FEU transplant in Cyprus to even their beard to perfection with the addition of some hair for a well-shaped beard.

The implanted hair starts to grow around 6 to 12 weeks after the treatment and it takes 9 to 12 months for the full results to be visible.

FUE Eyebrow Transplant in Cyprus

We offer the FUE eyebrow transplant in Cyprus to people who suffer from complete or partial eyebrow hair loss, people who wish to hide a scar or people who just want fuller eyebrows. Generally, our eyebrows tend to naturally thin out as we get older and some patients get an eyebrow transplant to get a younger eye and eyebrow look.

FUE eyebrow transplant treatment works in the same way as FUE hair transplant. The hair follicles are usually harvested from the area behind and above the ears. The results can be visible within 4 to 6 months from the day of the procedure and they can last a lifetime.

FUE Hair Transplant Questions Answered

Where is hair usually taken from to be placed on the target area?

FUE hair transplantation allows the doctor and patient to choose the donor area. Unlike during an FUT procedure, the donor area is not limited to the back of the head.

Usually, the hair taken for an FUE hair transplant treatment is from the head, beard, chest, neck, abdomen and back. The hair on the legs and arms can also be used but is not preferred because it can be too thin. The scalp is the most common donor area because the small scars cannot be easily visible there.

Does the FUE hair transplantation cause scarring?

Yes, the FUE hair transplant treatment does cause some scarring, but they are like tiny circles that are not even visible, especially when the hair starts to grow. The size of the scars is the size of the punch that is used for grafting the hair follicles.

What are the risks of FUE hair transplant?

Just like any other surgical treatment, an FUE hair transplant bears some risks. Some of the risks include infection, poor hair regrowth, inflammation, unnatural appearance, pain or swelling around the treated area and shock loss.

Although, no one can know how a person’s body will react to a hair transplant treatment, choosing an experienced doctor and the right clinic is very important for the avoidance of such risks.

Is Cyprus a good choice for my hair transplant surgery?

It sure is. Many patients from other countries visit Cyprus for their hair transplant surgery. Cyprus is known in Europe for the excellent hair transplant results at affordable prices. Therefore, Cypriots and foreigners choose trustworthy hair transplant clinics in Cyprus for their life-changing hair transplant surgeries.

FUT Strip Hair Transplant in Cyprus

The FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) Strip hair transplant is an old method which requires the cutting of a strip of skin from the back of the head.

Once the strip of skin is removed and the scalp is closed with stitches or staples, the piece of skin is taken under the microscope where an expert harvests grafts with follicles one by one.

After the grafts are harvested, the procedure continues as with the FUE hair transplant method. The follicles are safely and carefully placed on the target area in holes that are first made with a small incision. The FUT Strip hair transplant method leaves a permanent linear scar at the back of the head where the donor area is.

FUT Strip Hair Transplant Questions Answered

Will an FUT procedure give me natural-looking results?

Yes, both the FUE and FUT hair transplant methods give natural-looking results. However, with the FUT method, there is a chance that the final results look fake due to the type of grants transplanted to the target area. The grants harvested during an FUT hair transplant surgery can consist of more hairs than the grafts of an FUE procedure and can be too big for transplantation. The placement of many grafts with a lot of hairs in each one can lead to unnatural results.

Why is the FUT Strip hair transplant method gradually being replaced by the FUE hair transplant method?

The FUT Strip hair transplant method is old and has some important disadvantages with the first one being the visible linear scar it leaves at the back of the head. Moreover, the FUT Strip method requires more downtime due to the removal of the strip of skin and bears more inflammation and infection risks. In general, the FUT Strip method is very invasive and can cause more pain after the surgery.

Most clinics no longer or rarely use the FUT Strip method but there are still some surgeons who prefer and perform this old technique.

Is the FUT Strip hair transplantation painful?

The FUT hair transplant is not painful, but patients might feel some discomfort. The procedure starts with local anesthesia which is usually the most painful part and after that, the patient does not feel any pain. Of course, this depends on the individual pain threshold.

There is usually no severe pain during or after a hair transplant surgery, but since the FUT also includes the cutting and stitching of the back of the head, some people may experience pain or discomfort in the days following the surgery.

How long is the healing time after an FUT Strip hair transplant?

While the recovery time after an FUE hair transplant surgery is usually 2 weeks, the recovery time after an FUT Strip hair transplant surgery can take up to 5 weeks or more. The difference in the healing time is due to the removal of the strip on the back of the head, something that can cause pain, swelling and complications.
